Burnley 1-1 Stoke City, Premier League

So last night’s glamour tie ended in stalemate. It’s not a bad point for either side, but at this stage of the season, Burnley really need to be winning home ties against teams in the bottom half of the table (especially in light of their dire away form) – otherwise relegation will follow.

Stoke opened the scoring on 23 minutes from a Tuncay header – yes, the result of a Rory Delap long throw-in (it’s football Jim, but not as we know it). David ‘The Nuge’ Nugent equalised, also with a header, early in the second half. Burnley pressed for a winner but couldn’t take their chances.

Tony Pulis credited Burnley for having “a right go” – classic Pulis, that – but I fear Brian Laws and co. are going down.
