With the rubbish news that Jack Butland is now almost certain to miss the European Championships after fracturing his ankle while keeping goal for England against Germany on Saturday, Sky Sports News thought a real boon had landed in their lap when Shay Given – Butland’s clubmate at Stoke – phoned in to give his two shilling’s worth on the matter.
The only minor problem is that it clearly wasn’t Given at all. In fact, it was a man doing a frankly terrible, high-pitched Irish accent, t’be sure, t’be sure.
