Sunderland 2-2 Southampton – Premier League – 18th January 2013
Two goals down at the break, strugglers Sunderland battled back to secure a precious point against Southampton on Saturday. First-half goals from Jay Rodriguez and Dejan Lovren had the Stadium of Light faithful fearing the worst with the Saints playing some superb football against the lacklustre hosts. However, after the break, the Black Cats looked much improved, and were rewarded with goals from Fabio Borini and Adam Johnson. Although Artur Boruc really should have saved the latter. Gus Poyet’s men are now just one point from safety while Southampton stay in comfy mid-table.
