Swansea City 1-1 Sunderland – Premier League – 8th February 2015

A second-half equaliser from Ki Sung-yueng at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday secured a point for Swansea against Sunderland.

The hosts started well but it was Jermain Defoe who opened the scoring, with the veteran striker firing home just before the break. That goal had come just after Ki has seen aneffort ruled out for offside. However, on 66 minutes, the South Korean finally got on the scoresheet courtesy of a diving header. Garry Monk’s men then pushed for a winner but the Black Cats stood firm to pick up a precious point in their fight to avoid the drop.

Swansea go ninth while Sunderland are 14th, four points above the drop-zone.
