The photograph that caused all the commotion…
Steven Fletcher’s agent has gone on the defensive after the shot-shy Sunderland striker was recently subjected to a barrage of criticism for being pictured posing next to his new £260,000 super car despite a long string of pallid displays.
The image of Fletcher stood outside his house next to his new Lamborghini Aventador (and just metres away from his £160,000 Bentley Continental) riled Sunderland fans on social media, who have watched the flaccid Scottish striker score just seven goals in two years for the Black Cats.
Of course, it didn’t help that the photo also went viral just one day before 17th-placed Sunderland were spanked 4-0 at home by Aston Villa, the only Premier League to have scored fewer goals than them so far this season – a woeful result which duly cost Gus Poyet his job.
However, Fletcher’s Mr 10%, Mr Scott Fisher, explained that it wasn’t Fletcher but rather the company who sold him the car that posted the photo online.
“It wasn’t Steven that put the picture up,” Fisher told the Daily Record.
“The company who were doing advertising on it done it.
“I don’t know what the problem is and what people are getting excited about.’
Ah, we see. The company what done the advertising on it done it.
You can see how this guy got the job, can’t you?
