Reading 1-3 Tottenham – Easy As 123 For AVB As Lilywhites Secure First Win Of The Campaign (Photos & Highlights)

Reading 1-3 Tottenham Hotspur – Premier League – 16th September 2012
Andre Villas-Boas finally steered his Spurs side to a Premier League victory, as the Lilywhites strolled to a comfortable 3-1 win at the Madejski Stadium on Sunday.
England hitman Jermain Defoe netted twice for the north Londoners, on 18 and 74 minutes, with the latter coming after a superb run. Welsh wing-wizard Gareth Bale (with his ears freshly pinned back apparently, though we’d describe the difference as officially ‘negligible’) netted his goal in between the two Defoe strikes in the 71st minute as Spurs eased to victory.
Hal Robson-Kanu did get one back for the Royals in injury time, but all in all, it was a deserved first Premier League win for AVB’s Tottenham side. It should take some of the pressure off the Portuguese tactician, at least for a bit, while for Brian McDermott and Reading, it threatens to be a long and difficult season.
