Cardiff City – Tottenham Hotspur – Premier League – 22nd September 2013

Soccer - Barclays Premier League - Cardiff City v Tottenham Hotspur - Cardiff City Stadium

A last-gasp Paulinho goal finally broke down Cardiff’s defences on Sunday afternoon, as Spurs battled their way to a vital 1-0 win in Wales.

The visitors produced chance after chance but just couldn’t get that breakthrough as the Bluebirds fought to protect their goal, with ‘keeper David Marshall superb throughout.

Late on, Aron Gunnarsson failed to hit the target when presented with a great chance and then, with just seconds remaining, Eric Lamela squared the ball for Paulinho to backhell home from close-range.

All in all a well-deserved win for the Lilywhites and one that sees them go second in the table (courtesy of goal-difference) behind Arsenal.
