Swansea City 1-3 Tottenham Hotspur – Premier League – 19th January 2013
A brace from the revitalised Emmanuel Adebayor helped Spurs to an impressive 3-1 win away at Swansea on Sunday as Tim Sherwood’s reign keeps on a winning streak. Adebayor’s goals sandwiched an own-goal by Chico Flores in a game which the injury-ravaged home side started strongly. Indeed, Wilfried Bony hit the frame of the goal and Jonjo Shelvey went close as Michael Laudrup’s men looked to make the most of their possession. However, those missed chances proved costly as the resurgent visitors went 3-0 ahead before Bony finally managed to nab a goal, albeit a consolation strike late on. Spurs go fifth while the Swans are now just three points above the drop-zone.
