Newcastle United 0-4 Tottenham Hotspur – Premier League – 12th February 2014

Soccer - Barclays Premier League - Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur - St James' Park

The Tim Sherwood era continues to reap dividends for Spurs after yet another impressive victory, this time at St. James’ Park. Revitalised striker Emmanuel Adebayor bagged a brace for the visitors, with Paulinho and Nacer Chadli (courtesy of a superb effort) rounding off a fantastic night for the Lilywhites. The misfiring Magpies once again produced a disappointing, impotent display with the recentyl departed Yohan Cabaye and the suspended Loic Remy badly missed. But then again, any top side which starts a game with Sammy Ameobi is looking for trouble. Spurs are now just seven points off the top of the table while Newcastle’s Europe hopes continue to recede.
