Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Arsenal – Premier League – 16th March 2014

Britain Soccer Premier League

Arsenal make it three north London derby wins out of three on Sunday, with their latest 1-0 win keeping the Gunners well placed in the title race.

The home side had the lion;s share of possession but Tomas Rosicky’s second minute strike (quite a cracker) set the tone for a game which saw the visitors defend deep and try to catch the Lilywhites on the break. Tim Sherwood’s men struggled to create enough clear-cut chances, although Nacer Chadli really should have done better from close-range after rounding Wojciech Szczesny, only for the superb Laurent Koscielny to block on the line. Indeed, Koscielny and his defensive partner Per Mertesacker were the stars of the show, fighting off each and every Tottenham attack.

Arsenal go third, level on points with Liverpool and four points behind Chelsea, albeit with a game in hand. Spurs are now seven points behind fourth-placed Man City, who have played three games fewer.
