West Ham United 2-0 Tottenham Hotspur – Premier League – 3rd May 2014
West Ham rubber-stamped their Premier League survival courtesy of a comfortable 2-0 home win against Tottenham. The Lilywhites struggled to deal with the Hammers after Younes Kaboul saw red on 25 minutes for a foul on Stewart Downing. A Harry Kane own-goal (after an Andy Carroll header) just before the half-hour mark and a Downing free-kick just before half-time secured the victory for the Hammers, despite a much improved second-half display from the visitors.
West Ham go eight points clear of the drop-zone while the Lilywhites are now three points behind fifth-placed Everton.
