If you’ll allow us to being you a sliver of slightly underwhelming domestic news amid the World Cup hubbub, it’s been announced this morning that West Brom have secured the Bosman signing of defender Joleon Lescott, who reunites with Alan Irvine (his former coach at Everton) after five middling years at Man City.
