Aston Villa 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur – Premier League – 2nd November 2014
A last-gasp Harry Kane winner secured a precious win for Tottenham and condemned Aston Villa to their sixth defeat in a row.
Andreas Weimann ended the Villans’ goal-drought on 16 minutes as the hosts impressed in the first period. However, after the break the visitors started to gain the upper hand, with their cause helped by the expulsion of Christian Benteke for a shove in the face on Ryan Mason. And eventually the goals came for the Lilywhites, with first Nacer Chadli on 84 minutes and then Kane at the death rescuing the game and giving manager Mauricio Pochettino a much-need win.
Villa are now 15th while Spurs go eighth.
