Wolfsburg 0-2 Everton – Europa League Group C  – 27th November 2014

An entertaining game at the Volkswagen Arena say Everton seal their place at the top of Group H and their qualification for the last 32 of the Europa League.

The Wolves started brightly and should have been a goal up, only for Ivan Perisic’s effort to be wrongly flagged for offside.  Indeed, with Kevin Be Bruyne pulling the strings for the home side, the should really have scored a load of goals. However, just before the break the Toffees opened the scoring, with Romelu Lukaku scoring after a quick break from the visitors. Both sides had chances after the break but once again, it was a counter-attack from Everton which produced their second goal, this time with Kevin Mirallas providing the finish.

Roberto Martinez’s charges now top Group H, four points clear of Wolfsburg and with the knockout stages awaiting the Merseysiders.
