Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Partizan Belgrade – Europa League Group Stages – 27th November 2014

Aside from the silly pitch invasion nonsense, this was hardly the most thrilling of games at White Hart Lane on Thursday night. However, the win, courtesy of Benjamin Stambouli’s first goal for Tottenham, sees the north London make it into the knockout stages of the Europa League.

Overall, it was rather dull game, with Roberto Soldado once again struggling his find his shooting boots and neither side really clicking into gear. However, eventually the decisive goal did come on 49 minutes, when Soldado blasted a shot off the woodwork, with Stambouli firing home the rebound.

Two points clear of second-placed Besiktas in Group C, the Lilywhites can now look forward to the last 32 of the competition.
