Queens Park Rangers 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur – Premier League – 7th March 2015

A Harry Kane brace heaped more misery on strugglers QPR on Saturday at Loftus Road, while keeping Tottenham’s top-four hopes well an truly alive.

The Hoops, beaten 2-1 by Arsenal in midweek, started well with Bobby Zamora and Charlie Austin going close. However, the visitors weathered the early storm and eventually took the lead on 34 minutes. Kane was once again the goal-hero for the Lilywhites, with the in-form striker rising to head home from an Andros Townsend free-kick after Rob Green failed to deal with the cross.

In the second period, Mauricio Pochettino’s side pushed for a second with Christian Eriksen hitting the post. But eventually, the second goal did come, again courtesy of Kane after a Ryan Mason pass. With 15 minutes to go, ex-Lilywhite Sandro got one back for QPR but ultimately it ended in another defeat for Chris Ramsey’s side.

Tottenham go sixth, three points off a top-four spot while the Hoops are 18th, three points away from safety.
