Roy Hodgson has announced his England squad for next Friday’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania and the Italy friendly the Tuesday thereafter and… *drum roll please* …Harry Kane has received his first ever senior call up.

Here it is again in black and white…

Keepers: Forster, Hart

Defence: Baines, Cahill, Clyne, Gibbs, Jagielka, Jones, Shaw, Smalling, Walker

Midfield: Barkley, Carrick, Delph, Henderson, Lallana, Milner, Sterling, Townsend, Walcott

Forwards: Kane, Rooney, Sturridge, Welbeck.

With 26 goals in 42 games for Tottenham so far this season, Kane’s inclusion isn’t much of a surprise – though we’d like to have seen Charlie Austin in there too, perhaps at the expense of one of those extraneous midfielders.

Why? Why the hell not.

Little bit surprised to see Ashley Young miss out after a better-than-usual few weeks too – but hey ho, no great loss.

And THREE left-backs? What in the name of blue blazes has Roy got planned there?

Any thoughts Pies fans?

    Should have called up Berahino…

  2. CFC Jay says:

On current and recent form I would have opted for Charlie Austin over Danny Welbeck….and dont quite see how Luke Shaw has got a call-up seeing as he has hardly been a regular starter for Man U over the last few months….would have preferred to see Ryan Bertrand there instead….
