Tottenham booked their place in the Fourth Round of the EFL Cup on Wednesday night, courtesy of a 5-0 White Hart Lane stroll against Gillingham. Christian Eriksen was the star of the show for a mix-and-match Spurs 11, with the Dane’s first goal a right cracker.
It took the hosts until the 31st minute to break down the Gills, but it was worth the wait, with Eriksen thumping a unstoppable long-range swerving rocket into the back of the visitors’ net.

Eriksen doubled the Lilywhites’ advantage soon after the break, before summer-signing Vincent Janssen netted from the penalty spot. Erik Lamela and Josh Onomah also got on the scoresheet in a convincing win for the Premier League side.
While Mauricio Pochettino’s side progress to the last 16 of the competition, former Spurs defender Justin Edinburgh and his Gillingham side can focus on their League One campaign.
