Tottenham: Son Shines At Wembley As Lilywhites Edge Crystal Palace 1-0 (Video)

Song Heung-min was the match-winner for Tottenham in Sunday’s early game, with the South Korean netting the only goal of the game against strugglers Crystal Palace.

After they midweek heroics against Real Madrid, Spurs looked heavy-legged and struggled to find their trademark fluency against the Eagles.

Paulo Gazzaniga made his Spurs debut in goal for the game, and the Argentinian made a number of good saves.

Indeed, Palace fashioned a couple of decent chances in the game, with Wilfried Zaha firing wide of an open goal after rounding the Lilywhites’ ‘keeper.

However, it was the hosts who would score the only goal of the game, with Son producing a superb curling effort to secure a precious win for his side.

That goal saw Son become the outright top Asian scorer in Premier League, with his 20-goal haul surpassing Park Ji-sung 19.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are now third, eight points behind leaders Manchester City and level on points with Manchester United.

As for Roy Hodgson and Palace, they stay bottom courtesy of their four-point haul from 11 games. However, their decent display at Wembley on Sunday hints at an upturn in fortune sooner rather than later.
