Jermaine Jenas Shown Up By Freestyle Footballers – In His Own Back Garden (With Video Evidence)

This went a bit wrong, innit. I do detect a reddish tinge to JJ’s face…

“Yeah, you know, if you lot could show me how to be a box-to-box midfielder, er, that would be great.”

I’m no fan of JJ but this is too much! I feel sorry for him that entrepreneur/part-time footballer Rio Ferdimerk should send these quick-footed kids into his mock Tudor house to show him up for his lack of skills.

* * * * *

An aside: I hate freestyle footballers. They promote selfish, vain football. Skillful play means nothing outside of the team framework, and freestyle does nothing to promote that. F*ck Wayne Rooney and his Street Skills – in Brazil kids do it naturally, but over here we turn it into a gameshow.

Old man rant over.

    I’d love to see a side made up of the best ‘freestylers’ get taught a lesson by a decent league one team. Freestyling in general is incredibly boring, somewhere after the 275th kick-up I fall asleep. It’s only real style in the context of a proper game.

    This. Totally agree ej
