When asked by Sky Sports News about the whispy rumours (and they are just rumours at this point) that he may be approached to take over from the recently-deposed Carlo Ancelotti at Stamford Bridge yesterday, Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp sort-of-not-quite distanced himself from the speculation, leaving the door notably ajar.
Well, he can dream can’t he?
Said ‘Arry:
“Well I have got a great job at Tottenham, things are going well for me. I have had a couple of great years it couldn’t have gone better for me there.
“I haven’t heard anything from Chelsea that’s for sure, no one has ever mentioned Chelsea to me.
“It’s not the first I have heard of it, someone said to me today your name got mentioned on TV, well I said I’ve never heard nothing at all so it’s all news to me.”
Harry Redknapp 1-0 The English Language (Redknapp wins via submission)
Now, we all know that our ‘Arry isn’t one to talk about other people’s clubs, but Chelsea are certainly a top, top side and definitely the kind of t’riffic club that would fit in well on his CV.
