Internacional x Sport

Brazilian midfielder Sandro is set to move from Internacional to Tottenham Hotspur in January, subject to a medical.

According to reports, the player arrived in London yesterday to undergo a series of health checks.

The fee involved is expected to be in the region of £7 million.

So what do we know about Sandro? Well, he’s 20 years old, he’s big (6ft 1in) and athletic, but as you’d expect of a Brazilian, he’s also very good on the ball. In some ways he reminds me of Arsenal’s Denilson, only more raw, more powerful and more destructive – tackling is his strong point, with the emphasis on ‘strong’.

He’s also a massive fan favourite at Internacional and I’m sure Spurs fans would take to him just as they have with Wilson Palacios. He’s the type of combative midfielder Spurs have lacked in recent years, so I hope the move comes off. If it does, it could spell the end of Jermaine Jenas in a Tottenham shirt. No bad thing.

Yes the end for Jenas,Bentley ,Hutton,O’Hara,Pavachenko and Keane with Sandro,Muntari,Balotelli and Rudd or Cole (spammers) coming in plus a keeper if we could add a centre half great but with the two holding players in Charlie or the Thudd could move as cover in there.Adding Richards at right back(city)would be the last one but the least needed and could wait till summer .Lets not forget the big four will buy if they have to to keep us out so will city so we must move too Levy’s statement is a cover i think,he can see the big prize close and will spend a little to get it.Watch and see forget Christmas bring on the WINDOW.

Your a bit of a dreamer mate, we have loads of right backs already so I can’t see Redknapp wasting our limited transfer funds on Richards unless he’s wanted in a central role, but a right back is the last postion we need to strengthen. Pav will be off along with possibly Hutton and Bentley, cant see neither Jenas or Keane going till the summer.

Davy – don’t believe everything you read in the paper mate – not a hope of signing most of the players you mentioned, will (hopefully) sign Sandro & a Centre Back.

    Sol Campbell’s a free agent…

With BAE off to the African Cup of Nations, acquiring a good left back is a must. So, I personally would like to see another raid on Wigan to get Maynor Figueroa. I know we have Bale, but lets face it the guy is never going to cut it as a LB, a winger, or in time a midfielder maybe. Along with Sandro I would like to see Scott Parker become a Spur, as he leads by example on and off the field. He would add the steel and spirit required to keep us in the top four.
