Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp wants to bring veteran keeper David James to Fratton Park. Pompey’s current first-choice keeper Dean Kiely isn’t happy about this. In fact, he’s very pissed off.

Kiely told the Portsmouth News: ‘I think it would
be a little bit of a travesty, certainly on the back of what I did last
year, if some sort of Hollywood-type showbiz keeper with a massive ego
came in and played just because he’s a big name.’

I guess this is a thinly veiled dig at Calamity James. Personally, I’d stick with Kiely, a model pro who rarely lets anyone down. And he’s probably a hell of a lot cheaper than James. What say you, Pompey/Man City fans?

Kiely is an outstanding keeper especially when his team is getting shelled, which is likely for Portsmouth in the upcoming campaign. Kiely did as much as anyone to keep Pompey up, I’m not sure what Harry’s thinking. I’ve never been a big fan of David James and I certainly wouldnt pin my survival hopes on him.

5 keepers who are available(possibly) that are better than David James
