Seems highly unlikely to me, but the official PFA webite – Give Me Football – are reporting today that Tottenham Hotspur are seriously considering a move for Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy, and that City would only allow the Welshman to leave if Jermain Defoe were to move t’other way.

So sayeth the article;

Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has repeatedly been linked with a move for the feisty Welshman, and whispers of a move from Spurs re-surfaced heavily after an alleged bust-up between Craig Bellamy and club manager Roberto Mancini, but Redknapp will have to part with Jermain Defoe if he wants to add Bellamy to the ranks at White Hart Lane.

It’s predicted that City would have to make a player-plus-cash offer, something that wouldn’t be a problem for the super rich club. On paper an unlikely move, this could become the biggest transfer of the summer if City want to chase the highly-rated striker.”

I think I’ve got a fair idea already, but we’ll have to wait and see how this one pans out…
