Galatasaray’s tricky winger Arda Turan has again reiterated his desire to play for Liverpool.
Barcelona and Arsenal have both sent numerous scouts to watch the young Turk, but it is Liverpool that the youngster has singled out as his club of choice should he leave his homeland.
Speaking to UEFA.com, Turan said;
“Of course I want to play abroad but it is our board’s decision. As I always mention, Liverpool attracts me because of their tradition. In Europe, I am a Liverpool supporter, so if I go to play in Europe, I would like to play for them.”
The Turkish international has been given the prestigious number 10 jersey (as worn by club legend Gheorghe Hagi) at Galatasaray and also been installed as captain at only 23 years old – a good indicator of the kind of esteem in which he is held at the Ali Sami Yen Stadium.
Turan’s a skilfull attacking player who is still to reach his peak, he wants to come to Liverpool and he’d fit neatly into the side once he got there. Now there’s just the small matter of ‘Pool being able to come up with the £18 million needed to prise him away from ‘Cim Bom’.
