Mirko Vucinic: 50% striker, 50% streaker

Depending on who you choose to believe, Arsenal have reportedly entered preliminary talks this morning to sign striker Mirko Vucinic from Juventus.

According to Sky Sports, Arsene Wenger openly stated yesterday that he is mulling over several options in the auxiliary striker mould and that the club are “not especially in for Vucinic”, though Sky appear to reckon that Wenger is being a bit canny and that members of his team are due to meet Vucinic’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, when he flies into London today.

Lucci also represents diddy Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado (currently of Fiorentina), with whom the Gunners have also been repeatedly linked throughout January. Just sayin’…

As for Vucinic, the Telegraph are claiming that the Gunners are keen to tie up a five-month loan deal, while Juve are keen to sell the semi-nude, 30-year-old Montenegrin striker – having quoted Wenger a fee of €10million (around £8.2million).

A clever, penalty-box finisher who’s adept at finding the corner from any angle and has a penchant for celebrating goals in his undercrackers? What’s not to like?
