The deed is done. Adam Lallana is a Liverpool player with Southampton receiving £25million for the pleasure.
Lallana, 26, has signed a “long-term” deal and will wear the No.20 shirt (his number at Southampton) next season…

Giving his first interview as a Liverpool player, Lallana told the club’s official site the usual guff:
“I’m so excited for the next chapter of my career, coming to a special club like Liverpool. I’m quite humbled and I just can’t wait to get started.
“Hopefully I can settle in quickly, and I will give it my best throughout the whole time I’m here.
“I hope I can add something to the team and hopefully we can win trophies while I’m here, because that’s why I’m here – for success.”
Initial thoughts, Pies fans? £25million well spent? Are we looking at the new Stewart Downing here?
As an aside, thanks to a bit of clever foresight way back when, the £25million fee also means that AFC Bournemouth stand to earn a healthy £6.25million from this deal thanks to the sell-on clause they placed in the deal that took Lallana to Southampton as a 12-year-old.
Cha, and indeed, ching!
