After winning the Eurovision Song Contest with Celtic earlier this year, Georgios Samaras’ next port of call is a return to the Premier League, with the Greek forward signing a freebie two-year deal to become West Brom’s new No.30…

The Baggies’ technical director Terry Burton went over the subtle nuances of Samaras’ game with the club’s website:

“Georgios is not your archetypal 6ft 4in striker.

“There is a physicality to his game but he’s also got pace, is good technically, handles the ball well and can stretch teams.

“He’s got good experience of the big occasion and that’s often when his best moments came at Celtic.”

How exciting. That’s an extra two or three goals a season (at least!) g-g-g-guaranteed!

Farewell then, Sammy. The summer of “SAMMY’S COMING BACK!” rumours is officially over. West Brom will get a player who on his day, is unplayable, but more often than not will be unwatchable :D
