Rumour No. 1: Liverpool are apparently planning an ‘audacious’ summer bid for Real Madrid striker Raul, with the view of partnering him with fellow countryman Fernando Torres up front at Anfield next season.

The 32-year-old Spanish forward would probably be available on a free transfer but could cost Liverpool up to £8 million a year in wages.

Rumour No. 2: Chelsea and (more optimistically) Tottenham are apparently sniffing around Everton’s Steven Pienaar, after the £13-million-rated South African winger admitted that he is desperate to play Champions League football next season.

The Best of the Rest: Liverpool outcast Albert Riera‘s proposed move to Spartak Moscow has stalled because of a failure to agree on personal terms.

Blackburn are ready to sign Aruna Dindane for £2 million and let the Ivorian striker play on for Portsmouth until the end of the season.

Quincy Owusu Abeyie has left Portsmouth and joined Qatar outfit Al Saad.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle is seeking to make Arsenal youngster Jack Wilshere‘s loan spell at The Trotters into a permanent move.
