Brazilian club Fluminese are the favourites to sign Chelsea’s homesick midfielder Deco in the summer.

The 32-year-old still has a further year left to run on his contract at Stamford Bridge, but is currently in negotiations with the club to have his deal terminated twelve months early, so he can see out the remaining years of his career a little closer to home.

Deco’s agent, Acaz Fellenger, has confirmed Fluminese’s interest;

“Contact has been made but there has been nothing formal yet. We have had other propositions from Brazil but we will wait until the end of the season so Deco can concentrate on football.

The decision rests with Chelsea but maybe they will allow him to go as one day he would like to return to Brazil to be close to his family.”

Both Corinthians and Flamenco have also been linked with a move for the Portuguese international and it seems that Chelsea – who are keen to start lowering the average age of their squad – will be willing to allow the pint-sized play maker to move on come the end of the season.
