Having been shot down in their pursuit of John Stones, Chelsea have gone out and signed the next best thing in the shape of Nantes centre-back Papy Djilobodji.
Chelsea are yet to emit any official word, but Nantes have confirmed that transfer via a statement on their club website…

Previously courted by the likes of Fulham, Trabzonspor, Sunderland and QPR, 27-year-old Djilobodji has signed a four-year deal at Stamford Bridge and cost an estimated £2.7million.
Take your pick as to which of those four clubs he’s going to end up on loan at in a year’s time.
