Liverpool have moved to quash today’s spurious tittle-tattle linking them with a shifty covert approach for Carlo Ancelotti.
The rumours, originally delivered unto the world up by Italian website Calciomercatoweb (hardly a bastion of journalistic integrity), have since been picked up and regurgitated by several major newspapers today.
However, with Brendan Rodgers doing such a bang-up at Anfield at the moment there’s really no need to go upsetting the managerial apple cart.
