With the storm a-gathering high over his head, it’s being mooted in today’s papers that Jose Mourinho has begun preparing for life after Chelsea.

Chelsea suffered their fifth Premier League defeat of the season against West Ham on Saturday, a result that left them languishing way down in 15th place after 10 games.

As such, ESPN FC sources reckon the club are now “tentatively discussing” the idea of dismissing Mourinho (at a cost of around £30million in contractual compensation).

In turn, with the sword of Abramocles dangling precariously above his head, Mourinho and his people have started making their own contingency plans, with the Portuguese’s representatives “investigating the possibility of moving to PSG or returning to Inter Milan”.

Sources have told ESPN FC that Mourinho’s primary choice would be PSG, as all other top English and Spanish clubs are seen as off-limits, and the French champions are one of the few other sides with the money to match the elite and potentially win the Champions League.

Would PSG sack Laurent Blanc (who won an unprecedented four domestic trophies last season) just to accommodate Mourinho? Seems a little far-fetched though stranger things have definitely happened.

The Mirror are also on board the sack train, with their back page looking a little something like this today…

Word is that Chelsea’s senior players have become disillusioned by Mourinho’s sour demeanour and now believe it is a case of ‘when not if’ as far as their manager being canned is concerned.

Stay tuned for more.

“Sword of Abramocles” best pun I’ve seen in years

Yawnarama… anyone else sick to death of this utter charade? See it for what it really is? I wonder what other matters of import are going on in the world, that the media needs this much of a smokescreen?

I reluctantly have to admit to myself that, through such bread-and-circus methods, I have come to the conclusion that I despise modern football. They took the game I used to love & Brendan Rogered it until it’s chocolate starfish was bleeding & raw around the edges. The only saving grace is that I can still watch local footy without all this stage-managed farcical “theatre of dreams” bollix getting in the way.

Until the peon masses wake the fuck up & stop buying into this pathetic spectacle it is only going to get more insidious & stomach churning.

    To paraphrase Aleister Crowley…

“Consider the popularity of the cinema, the wireless, the football pools and guessing competitions, all devices for soothing fractious infants, no seed of purpose in them. Consider sport, the babyish enthusiasms and rages which it excites, whole nations disturbed by disputes between boys. Consider war, the atrocities which occur daily and leave us unmoved and hardly worried. We are children.”

Agree 100% iRant – its like fucking WWf wrestling sideshow where the league is incidental. Teams have patches and this is a bad patch. Let them show their alleged talents and work their way out of it. instead of this pathetic sack the boss bullshit. They won the league ffs.
