Crystal Palace have announced that they’ve decided to take the plunge and sign Emmanuel Adebayor on a short term deal.
While it’s being reported that Adebayor has signed an 18-month deal with Palace, the club themselves have announced that the former Arsenal, Man City and Tottenham striker has joined until the end of the season. Little confusing, that.
Anyway, we can only assume that whatever contract they’ve given him is positively chock full of performance-related clauses.

It’s a fairly sound gamble on Palace’s part. Adebayor tends to play well for a few months after moving clubs/bagging a new contract before settling back into his old routine so he might just grab the goals Palace so sorely need this season – their current crop of ‘strikers’ being largely terrible and all.
Go ahead and file this one under ‘we shall see’.
