Arjen Robben and Wes Sneijder – Real Madrid cast-offs, now thriving in Germany and Italy

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has joked that he would be interested in signing any of Real Madrid’s unwanted players.

According to reports, the Gunners gaffer will be given as much as £60million to spend in the transfer market this summer.

After seeing Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben leave the Bernabeu and inspire Inter Milan and Bayern Munich respectively, Wenger is looking for similar bargains.

Wenger joked in the Mirror: “I might have to sign Real Madrid’s cast-offs this summer.”

He added: “It was surprising that they got rid of Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben, who have both done well in the Champions League. Maybe it’s worth waiting outside their stadium and seeing what players they let go this summer!”

A bit late for that, Arsene? The best Real off-cuts have moved on. You probably could have tempted Sneijder to the Grove, but you kept your hands wedged in your pockets.
