Fresh from starring in Wales’ stunning Euro 2016 campaign, Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen looks to be on his way to Stoke City, with the Reds reported to have accepted a £13million from Stoke for the 26-year-old.

Allen has one year left on his current Liverpool contract and has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp, starting only eight league games last season.

Allen shone at Euro 2016 this summer, helping Wales to an historic semi-final appearance, but despite his displays in France, it looks as though Klopp will allow the Camarthen-born star to leave Merseyside.

Allen’s former club Swansea are also thought to be sniffing around, however, the player looks headed for the Britannia Stadium where he should prosper under Potters’ boss Mark Hughes.

£13million for an experienced 26-year-old who is proven at the highest level looks like a very good deal for Stoke indeed.

I’m sorry, I think Allen is horrible. He should get a job in a supermarket or something.
