Rumours and bullshit: Claudio Ranieri wants to bring Frank Lampard to Juventus

73716265.jpgClaudio Ranieri, the new manager of Juventus and the man who brought Frank Lampard to Chelsea from West Ham, is reportedly keen on luring Lamps to Italy with a £12m bid. Juve have already armed Ranieri with a £70m war chest for new signings and he will use part of that to table a bid for the Chelsea midfielder, who has yet to sort out a new contract.
So says the Mirror’s Martin Lipton anyway. I think this story reeks of bs. It’s a case of pure tabloid speculation and nothing more. Yes, it’s plausible that Juve could have Lampard on their long-list of summer transfer targets, especially because Ranieri has signed Lampard once before, but there is a less-than-zero chance that Lampard will be playing in a black-and-white striped shirt next season.     Less than zero? Chelsea have Ballack and Lampard and overall a strong midfield. They’ve also got how long to break even on that claimed 5 year plan of Kenyons? 2 years? 3 years? Unloading Lamps wages would help a lot in trying to get there (if they really are).
