Dum dum duuuuhhm!

Lee Carsley has announced that he is to leave Birmingham City at the end of the current season.

The 36-year-old midfielder released a statement to confirm his decision;

“I would like to announce that I will be leaving Birmingham City Football Club at the end of this season, I came to the club in 2008 to help them back into the Premiership and then to stay there.

I have had two fantastic years at the Blues and I would like to thank the management and the fans for all their support. I will now look to help another club achieve success and I relish another challenge.”

Carsley was voted player’s player of the year last season following Birmingham’s promotion from the Championship, but the former Republic of Ireland international has struggled for starts this campaign due to a recurring ankle injury.

    He should come back to Derby and replace our over-payed, loud mouth midfield veteran. As long as he doesn’t have a tw*tter feed, that is.

    He does have lovely hair though.

    He’s well ‘paid’ as well.

    As an Everton fan, i’m a big fan of what Carsley has done over the years, one of those under appreciated defensive midfielders in his time with us. I would have liked him to be finishing his career getting first team football somewhere though and , you never know, might still play an important role for somebody else.
