Reading fans are the most stylish in the country, according to a survey carried out by Brylcreem. The haircare firm interviewed fans from all 92 Football League clubs to find out their taste in hairstyle, clothes labels, drinks, holidays and nights out. The Royals fans came out on top, narrowly pipping Northampton Town supporters.
John Keen, from the Reading Supporters’ Trust, said: “Like every club we have our fair share of dodgy specimens. But it’s an honour to see we are Champions of Style because looking good to support your club is a serious business.” I’m not sure this picture necessarily shows the fans who took the survey!
Chelsea came fourth in the list, but Arsenal and Manchester United followers were languishing in League Two positions. Liverpool found themselves just one point away from relegation to the Style Conference. Thoughts of shell-suited stereotypes abound!
