Man City are on the verge of procuring themselves a rather expensive new goalkeeper in the shape of Benfica’s 23-year-old Brazilian stopper Ederson Moraes.
Sky Sports are reporting that the fee involved is £45million, which would make Ederson the most expensive goalkeeper in history.
However, BBC reporter Simon Stone is adamant that City will ‘only’ be paying £33million, thus making Ederson the second most expensive ‘keeper behind Gianluigi Buffon.
Either way, Goal’s dedicated City correspondent Sam Lee, who has a good track record with this kind of thing, has emitted an update to confirm that Ederson is set to undergo his medical at Carrington later today with an official announcement due tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Joe Hart is now on his way back to City after signing off for the season with Torino having conceded 62 goals in 36 matches.
We think that may just cement his future under Pep Guardiola, in that he definitely doesn’t have one.
