If whispers on the wind are to be believe, then Leicester City are within a day or so of appointing a successor to Craig Shakespeare.

The man(ager) in their sights is reported to be one Claude Puel, the charisma-less Frenchman who just sort of came and went at Southampton a while ago.

According to the Telegraphs man in the Midlands, John Percy, the Foxes have entered “final negotiations” to formally bring Puel on board…

Meh. M-E-H. Meh.

In fairness, Puel did drag the Saints to an eighth-placed finish and the League Cup final last season, but he also made them interminably boring.

Looks like Leicester are opting for stark pragmatism, which probably isn’t a bad idea considering their wildly fluctuating fortunes over the past few years.
