While you could be forgiven for thinking he’d called it quits several years ago, Diego Forlan is still out there plugging away at the grand old age of 38.
Indeed, one month after his short-term deal with Mumbai City expired, the Uruguayan veteran has signed on the dotted line with reigning Hong Kong champions Kitchee FC.
As posted on Kitchee’s official Facebook page, the accompanying statement reads:
[Kitchee can] today officially confirm that the Uruguayan star has signed a formal agreement, and he is expected to arrive in Hong Kong at noon on January 10th.
Fair play to Forlan for eking it out as long as possible and sampling new, emerging footballing cultures as he goes.
You’re a long time retired, after all.
