Liverpool look set to sign French international attacker Nabil Fekir from Lyon in a deal which could end up costing the Reds a whopping €60million.

Having already splashed out €39million on Brazilian holding midfielder Fabinho, Liverpool are now looking to strengthen their attacking options courtesy of Lyon captain Fekir, who can play behind a striker or out wide.

The 24-year-old Fekir, who is part of France’s World Cup squad, has been in Jurgen Klopp’s sights for some time and is reported to be very keen on a move to Merseyside.

If Fekir does indeed sign on the dotted line, it will be quite a statement of intent from the Reds.

With Fabinho in the bag and Naby Keita joining in July from RB Leipzig, Klopp will have a very strong squad at his disposal.

Liverpool’s bench somewhat paled in comparison to that of Real Madrid’s in the Champions League final last month.

However, ahead of the new season, the Reds will have strength in depth throughout the squad and might even challenge for the Premier League title.
