Lucas Perez’s largely barren two-year association with Arsenal is now officially at an end with news that the Spanish forward has completed a £4million move to West Ham.

The transfer was confirmed by Jack Wilshere of all people, who shared a brief, but nevertheless cinematic Instagram video of Perez sat twiddling away on his phone in the Hammers dressing room…

UPDATE: West Ham themselves have now followed suit by formally announcing Perez’s arrival…

Champions League hat-trick aside, Perez never got going for the Gunners after joining from Deportivo la Coruna for £17million, and will therefore undoubtedly retain ‘flop’ statue forever more.

However, while back on loan at former club Deportivo last season, the 29-year-old was responsible for creating a thoroughly impressive 79 chances for his teammates in 35 La Liga appearances, leaving him second only to Lionel Messi (87) in that regard.

All being well, the Hammers have got themselves a thoroughly decent back-up option to Marco Arnautovic.
