Asamoah Gyan: football’s latest rapper

Asamoah.jpgAsamoah Gyan – the Ghana striker who made a big impression at the 2006 World Cup – is the latest footballer to be tempted into the recording studio. The Udinese player has recorded a track for the new album of Castro, dubbed ‘Ghana’s 50 Cent’.
The 21-year-old forward could see the song released as a single. He is the latest in a long line of footballers to have a go at rapping. Previous ‘ballers to release tunes of varying degrees of phatness include Benni McCarthy, Clint Dempsey and, of course, John Barnes!

Don’t forget Drogbashite, or whatever he calls himself.

How could you forget the short-lived but truly atrocious rap career of Andy Cole. Sample rhyme, from his single ‘Outstanding’:
‘Man United forever, whatever the weather. Less than 100%? Never’
Dear sweet mother of Christ . . .
