Bayern Munich have confirmed that Benjamin Pavard will leave Stuttgart at the end of the current season to join the Bavarians on a long-term contract.

The toussled, talented young French defender, a World Champion as of last summer, is reportedly set to cost Bayern around €35million.

Speaking to the media at Bayern’s mid-winter training camp in Dubai, sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic announced that Pavard has agreed a five-year deal that will commence on 1st July.

It’s also reported that the German giants have tabled a fourth bid for Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, worth somewhere in the region of £35-40million, which is “still under consideration” as things stand.

Anyway, it would be entirely remiss of us to mention Pavard and not include mention of the achingly beautiful goal he scored at the World Cup – later voted the goal of the tournament…

Somehow, it’s even silkier than we remember.

A true masterpiece, painted on the world stage at the age of 21.
