Arjen Robben has reportedly agreed personal terms over a move to Real Madrid, according to the BBC. Chelsea have not yet agreed a fee with the Spanish giants, but the Dutch winger is set to fly to Madrid on Friday.
It’s thought that Feyenoord’s 20-year-old winger Royston Drenthe, who impressed hugely at the U-21 Euro Champs recently, has been lined up to replace his compatriot, as Pies told you last month.
Will you really miss Robben, Chelsea fans? He started brightly at the Bridge, but he hasn’t kicked on and seems too injury prone, not to mention partial to the odd dive. He strikes me as a stroppy sod too, and I can’t imagine he’s the easiest player to manage, or indeed the most popular player with his team-mates. This seems like a good deal to me.
