72940195.jpgApparently, Andy Cole is on the verge of signing for Sunderland after Harry Redknapp agreed to release the 35 year-old from the last two years (!?) of his Portsmouth contract.
It means a reunion with his old Manchester United teammates, Roy Keane and former striking partner, Dwight Yorke – who’s aged more gracefully by playing in midfield.
Now, we know ‘Goal King Cole’ has an impressive scoring record in the Premier League but he only managed four goals last season before going out on loan to Birmingham.
So, it’s unlikely he’s being bought to scale the scoring charts once more – but will his experience help Sunderland’s fledgling strikers keep them up?
