I love the…?

Manchester City have secured their third major signing of the summer after confirming that Yaya Toure has finally completed his heavily protracted move from Barcelona (thus putting to an end to some of the most tedious ‘will he/won’t he’ transfer gossip I have ever had to deal with!) for a fee believed to be somewhere in the region of £27 million.

Toure will now join older brother Kolo at City after signing a five-year deal with the club.

The Ivorian holding man told MCFC.co.uk;

“This is a dream come true, I have always wanted to play for the same club as my brother and I’m so happy that it has finally happened. It’s great for our family, we’re all so happy about it.

Kolo told me it’s an amazing time for the club and a very exciting project. They want to make some big signings, and I needed a big challenge.”

Having already secured the close season signings of Jerome Boateng and David Silva (from Hamburg and Valencia respectively), City’s deal for Toure has taken their total summer spending well above the £60 million mark – and there’s still plenty of time for that figure to rise!
