German holding midfielder Sami Khedira, who was one (of many) of his country’s outstanding performers at the World Cup, is edging ever closer to completing his proposed move to Real Madrid after informing his club, Stuttgart, that he wishes to leave.

Stuttgart’s director of sport, Fredi Bobic, confirmed to the German daily Bild that Khedira fully intends to join Real this summer and that the Bundesliga side will not stand in his way;

“Khedira has informed us that he wants to go to Real. We now have to find a solution.

We respect Sami’s decision, I know that Stuttgart is close to his heart, but Real don’t come calling every day.”

It is rumoured that Khedira has already held talks with representatives of Real and has agreed a deal ‘in principle’ to join the Spanish giants, with the only stumbling block being the fact that the two clubs cannot agree on a suitable fee.

    if there’s one club to jump on the wc bandwagon it’s real madrid. formerly man utd. love to see this guy become the next kleberson or djembo djembi. khedira was good in the wc, but not mindblowingly good.

    Is this tax evasion or what?

    Sorry Deckard, but Khedira is the new Patrick Vieira, the best, most dynamic midfield enforcer since the former French captain was in his prime. And he is just 23!

    He already had a pre-contract with Bayern at €7.5 million a year! And Bayern are just going to let this drop? Any top club worth its salt would be prepared to sacrifice up to £30 million for this player. So where has the £12-13 million come from? I suppose that is the “official” figure declared to the German tax authorities!

    What is going on? This needs a full investigation!
